There are many reasons as to say December 26 is the Boxing day.The day was 26th December 1892,that day at first a cricket match occurred between Victoria and New South Wales at the MCG in a Sheffield Shield match over the Christmas period.The first Boxing day test match was played during on the 1959-1951 Ashes Test Series,which test was held in Melbourne from 22 to 27 ,that Malbourn test occurred through the Christmas and the fourth day falling on Boxing day.Australia won that match by just 22 runs.But after that match, no Boxing day test matches were held from 1953 to 1966.In 1967 Boxing day test match again resumed in 1967.
December 26 sees so many sporting events held across the commonwealth nations falling under the Southern Hemisphere.They celebrate this day in so many different ways and they also arrange different games like football, English premier league in England.
